3. Who's My Supervisor? + Tutorial #1

Supervisor time! Gonna admit I've been putting off progress on the project, but now I have a supervisor I really have no excuse.
Email from Ian. Decided to do some light online searching of David out of curiosity.

It's probably not this guy
probably also not this guy, though having a bioscience lecturer oversee my fyp would be interesting.

Not long after the initial email, David himself messaged me, and arranged for a tutorial on Tuesday. Decided to include everything in one blog post since this is quite short.

Tutorial #1 notes (19/2/19)
Explanation: Met up with David, and took some time to explain to him what my project is about (and installation where users interact with a heart to hear audio clips). He suggested the idea of filling the heart with fluid, and hooking it up to tubes connected to syringes. When the user squeezes the heart, the fluid from the heart would push the syringe, which would push a linear potentiometer, creating my analog input.

Honestly I hadn't considered using fluids for my input. There might be some technical issues in ensuring no leakages happen, but it's doable I think? Time to research.

I also talked to David about the need to conduct user surveys so that I can ensure that the audio clips I use in my installation actually trigger memories from my audience, since people have different experiences growing up and may have different sound triggers for memories. Need to fill in and submit an ethics application form for that. Fun.
